I'm Melissa Riley. I'm in my first year at Arts University College Bournemouth studying for a BA Hons in Illustration.
This blog is a mix of my own work, along with the work of others that inspires me or just things I like.

These are a few instruments that I've drawn. Going to manipulate them in Photoshop next.

Hennie

Hennie Haworth has been one of my favourite illustrators for a few years now. I love her style of drawing and use of colour. I like that even though she uses both Illustrator and Photoshop her images don't look too worked on.
I really like her keyboard image. I think I'm going to start drawing instruments and music related things and see where that takes me.

Pen And Mouse

Here is a selection of artists whose work I find inspiring for the project Digital Imaging. Some pieces are related to music, although not all of them.

Alex Williamson

Tommy Penton
I'm not overly keen on the style of drawing, but I really like his use of colour and shape.

Jason Munn
I love this simple, clean style that Munn uses throughout all his work his.

Rain Is Great

Today was the second day of our t-shirt workshop with Marcus Oakley. It was a pretty rad day. Ben and I sat and hand stitched our t-shirts with embroidery thread, which honestly took a very long time.
I was quite pleased with how mine turned out.

Washing lines of tees.

My tee, Dan's tee, Ben's tee.

Panda.

Me wearing my rain is great tee.

Lucy Vigrass

Lucy Vigrass was on our reading list as an artist to look at.
I really love her style of working even though it's quite different to how I work. I love her use of simple shapes and vibrant colours.
